Ferrari turbocharges 2026 push with new Garret Motion tech partnership

 



Scuderia Ferrari HP Formula One (F1) Team along with Garret Motion Inc., a global leader in high performance turbocharging and electrification technologies. Have announced a renewal of its long standing technical partnership in which Garret Motion will continue to develop and supply the next generation turbo system for Ferrari’s F1 power unit (PU). The collaboration supports Ferrari through the 2026 FIA regulation cycle which introduces a revised hybrid architecture and greater electrification.


The partnership began in 2014 with the start of F1’s turbo era and has grown into a deep technical collaboration.

Frederic Vasseur, Scuderia Ferrari HP Team Principal commented: “Garret has been a trusted partner for many years and their technology has consistently supported us in achieving our goals.”

Ferrari is preparing for one of the most significant regulation shifts in modern F1 with increased electric power and efficiency demands.


Garrett’s advanced boosting technologies are essential for meeting the efficiency, energy recovery and responsiveness requirements for the 2026 PU.

Vasseur commented: “As we prepare for the significant technical challenge of the 2026 regulations, we are pleased to continue this collaboration and to rely on Garrett’s expertise as we enter the next chapter of Formula One.”

Over more than a decade, Garrett’s expertise is turbocharging technologies has contributed to the development of PU’s designed to meet the demanding requirements of efficiency, energy recovery and responsiveness at the highest level of motorsport.
