Mercedes bags tech titan! Microsoft joins Silver Arrows in mega deal to supercharge 2026 title fight

 



Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One (F1) Team along with Microsoft Corp., the global technology company providing cloud, AI and data solutions. Have announced a multi-year partnership with Microsoft’s cloud, enterprise AI and collaboration technologies being embedded across Mercedes’ entire racing operations. The goal is to drive efficiencies, accelerate innovation and enhance performance both at the factory along with track side operations.


The 2026 F1 regulations introduce one of the most significant technical evolutions in modern F1 with major shifts toward electrification, efficiency and sustainability.

Toto Wolff, CEO and Team Principal Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team said: “By putting Microsoft’s technology at the centre of how we operate as a team, we will create faster insights, smarter collaboration and new ways of working as we look ahead to the next generation in F1.”

Mercedes is partnering with Microsoft to leverage Azure cloud, AI and data driven tools to stay competitive in an era where races are decided by fractions of a second.


Through this new collaboration, the companies aim to drive efficiencies and innovations that will help drive performance along with amplify the excitement for the more than 800 millions F1 fans worldwide.

Microsoft Azure and its AI capabilities will expand the team’s existing high performance computing plus data capabilities with scalable cloud along with AI resources supporting simulation workloads, performance analysis, race strategy modelling as well as cross team analytics.
