Toyota joins forces with Haas - shock title partnership to shake up F1 in 2026

 



Haas Formula One (F1) Team and Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR), Toyota’s motorsport plus R&D division. Have announced that Haas F1 Team will be renamed TGR Haas F1 Team starting in 2026 with TGR assuming title partnership rights, expanding on their existing technical collaboration. The partnership focuses on “people, product, pipeline,” including driver development, engineering talent and motorsport culture.


Deepens the collaboration between Haas and Toyota, combining technical expertise as well as talent development. Aiming to expand its motorsport footprint in F1, complementing its success in World Rallying Championship (WRC) and World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Ayao Komatsu, MoneyGram Haas Formula One Team said: “The cultivation of personnel, all working collaboratively between Haas F1 Team and TGR has benefited us greatly and that’s something that will only increase as our partnership matures.”

With Haas benefitting from Toyota’s resources, simulator technology and driver pipeline strengthening its competitiveness under the new 2026 regulations. Both parties emphasise building a sustainable motorsport culture and preparing the next generation of drivers and engineers.


Having entered a multi-year technical partnership in October 2024, the new title partnership deal is a further bonding of the core objectives of the relationship.

Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation said: “The time has come for the next generation to take their first steps toward the world stage. Together with Gene Haas, Ayao and everyone at TGR Haas F1 Team, we will build both a culture and a team for the future.”

Focusing on “People, Product, Pipeline,” which includes the development of essential human resources such as drivers, engineers and mechanics to build a sustainable motorsports industry as well as culture.
