F1 seals mega deal! FIA and all 11 teams sign 2026 pact to lock in the sport's future
Formula One (F1), the FIA which is motorsport’s governing body and all 11 F1 teams including Cadillac. Have announced the signing of the 2026 Concorde Governance Agreement, completing the ninth Concorde Agreement. This agreement defines the regulatory, commercial and governance framework of F1 through 2030.
It aligns F1, the FIA and all teams on how the sport will be run during the next regulatory era. Ensuring all stakeholders are aligned ahead of the major 2026 regulations changes.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula One said: “As we celebrate 75 years of this incredible sport, we are proud to write the next chapter in our long and amazing history.”
Strengthening governance, promote sporting fairness and support the sport’s global growth as well as professionalism. Enabling the increased FIA investment in race direction, stewarding and technical expertise.
The Concorde Agreement ensures that the key stakeholders in the sport, F1 as the commercial rights holder, the FIA as the governing body of world motorsport and the F1 teams.
Domenicali added: “I want to thank the President of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem and all the teams for the collaboration and determination to achieve the best results of the entire sport in our discussions.”
As all parties are fully aligned on the fundamental commercial and governance structures that will underpin the next five years of the sport as it heads into a new era in 2026 with exciting and innovative regulations for the power unit plus cars.
Underscoring the commitment of all parties to continue growing and developing the sport, to keep driving the momentous expansion it has seen in recent years.
Domenicali added: “We have a huge amount to be proud of but we also are focussed on the opportunities and exciting potential for Formula One in the years ahead.”
Combining it with a record viewership growth, a dynamic race calendar and increasing engagement from younger audiences, the FIA F1 World Championship enters this next chapter with unprecedented momentum.
