Calado stay red hot! Ferrari locks in hypercar hero for multi-year WEC deal

 


James Calado, British racing driver and Ferrari factory driver since 2014. Has announced that he has signed a multi-year contract extension with Ferrari continuing his role in the brand’s endurance racing program. With Ferrari’s hypercar program, competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), including races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.


Maintaining continuity with a driver who has delivered 27 wins, 62 podiums and three world titles for Ferrari, including the Centenary Le Mans victory in 2023.

James Calado, Ferrari Endurance Driver, said: “I’ve achieved many successes with the Prancing Horse in recent years and I’m convinced that together we can pass some big chequered flags in the future as well.”

Ferrari praised Calado’s contribution and leadership calling him a “fully fledged member of the Ferrari family.”


In addition to his commitment behind the steering wheel of Ferrari GT3’s with which he won the 24 Hours at Daytona in the GTD Pro class in 2024.

Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, said: “We take great satisfaction in pursuing a professional journey with James, who over the last 11 years has enabled us to achieve many titles and successes of particular importance.”

Calado has been competing in the top category of WEC at the wheel of the Ferrari 499P since the 2023 season. With this car, the Englishman has achieved three victories and seven podium finishes in 22 races so far.
