F1 lands prime time in Mexico! Televisa joins the grid as new broadcast partner

 





Formula One (F1) and Grupo Televisa, Mexico’s largest media company. Have announced a multi-year broadcast partnership that makes Grupo Televisa the exclusive free to air broadcaster of F1 in Mexico. Across Mexico with coverage available on Canal 5 and ViX Televisa’s streaming platform.


Expanding F1’s audience in Mexico, enhancing accessibility through free to air coverage with strengthening the sport’s presence in a key Latin American market.

Ian Holmes, Chief Media Rights and Broadcasting Officer of F1, said: “Televisa’s commitment and coverage will be second to none across Mexico and the move them couldn’t be better timed, with the US Grand Prix in Austin this weekend, followed by the home race in Mexico City, where we know the drivers and teams will receive an incredible, warm welcome.”

As part of this new partnership, Mexican fans will enjoy extensive live coverage of all Grand Prixs via Sky Sports channels available through Sky and Izzi, including all practice, qualifying, sprint and race sessions.


This month fans in Mexico can look forward to the Formula One MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix on Sky Sports and the Formula One Gran Premio de la Cuidad de Mexico on both Sky Sports as well as Televisa.

Olek Loewenstein, President of Global Sports of TelevisaUnivision, said: “One of the growing and most passionate sport spectacles in Mexico and worldwide will be broadcast in its entirety through various multiplatform windows across both free and pay television.”

The Mexican fans will bring their unique passion and energy for F1 to the packed grandstands of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
