F1 honours heroes! John Langdon Down Foundation wins €100,00 global community award in Mexico

 



The John Langdon Down Foundation, a Mexico based non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families. Have been announced as the recipient of the €100,000 Formula One (F1) Allwyn Global Community Award, recognising outstanding contributions to community impact and inclusion. Awarded during the F1 Gran Premio de la Ciudad de Mexico held at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.


Honouring the Foundation’s longstanding commitment to education, healthcare and social inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome aligning with F1 and Allwyn’s mission to celebrate transformative local impact on a global stage.

F1 Allwyn Global Community Award winner, Prof. Sylvia Garcia Escamilla, President of The John Langdon Down Foundation, said: “This generous donation from Allwyn will allow us to implement a programme which delivers an integrated support system which unlocks development, breaks down barriers and can foster greater inclusion which extends beyond Mexico.”

The initiative will directly support 89 children aged 6 – 18 and empower more than 445 family members with training in addition to resources to foster long term independence as well as inclusion.


Over the next 12 months, the donation will enable The John Langdon Down Foundation to deliver a holistic programme that addresses the care system in Mexico.

Ellen Jones, Head of ESG at Formula One, said: “The outstanding initiative breaks down systematic barriers, helping these children to reach their full potential.”

Helping children with Down Syndrome to thrive across education, employment and social setting with the initiative aiming to break down stereotypes, shift perceptions in addition to building a more inclusive society.
