Alpine and JAAQ spotlight mental health in motorsport: Breaking the silence on World Mental Health Day

BWT Alpine Formula One (F1) Team and JAAQ, a mental health platform focused on open conversations and expert led support. A joint initiative to raise awareness about the mental challenges faced by athletes featuring Alpine drivers and team members sharing personal insights in addition to coping strategies. The campaign was launched via Alpine’s official social media channels with content distributed globally and aligned with World Mental Health outreach.

Fostering open dialogue, reduce stigma and highlight the importance of mental resilience in high pressure environments like F1 while promoting JAAQ’s tools for athlete as well as fan wellbeing.

Pierre Gasly, BWT Alpine Formula One Team driver, said: “I think the JAAQ platform is amazing for everyone who watches and is seeking these videos to learn about themselves and hopefully improve their quality of life and mental health.”

Launched last year, the partnership has provided team members with the ability to better understand their own mental health and of those around them in a safe and supportive environment.

Alpine F1 Team driver, Pierre Gasly has shared his own personal stories about the pressures of F1 and the challenges he’s faced.

Gasly, said: “Everyone is different – we want to have examples and directions on how we should feel and what we should do but I really think each individual is unique.”

Visitors can ‘Ask A Question’ on the JAAQ platform and learn how Gasly navigates the highs and lows he experiences in the world of racing.

Gasly’s experiences, which have been released on the JAAQ platform are included alongside world leading testimonies on over a hundred mental health topics.

Gasly, said: “The platform allows the freedom to feel they way you are.”

The partnership has continually focused on internal team support. F1 can be a challenging environment and recognising the mental health impact faced by employees in the high performance setting as well as at home, is a high priority for the team.
