Pourchaire joins the Endurance elite! Peugeot hands rising star WEC debut in Bahrain

Theo Pourchaire, 2023 Formula Two (F2) Champion and current Peugeot development driver, racing for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies. Will make his FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race debut in the hypercar category driving the Peugeot 9X8 at the season finale. In November at the Bahrain International Circuit during the final round of the 2025 WEC season ahead of a full season campaign with Peugeot in 2026.
Continuing Pourchaire’s integration into Peugeot’s Hypercar program after a successful stint as a development driver and strong performances in LMP2 in addition to simulator testing.
Peugeot Sport Technical Director, Olivier Jansonnie, said: “Theo continues his learning process with the 9X8 and this race represents a logical step in his integration into the Hypercar program.”
Peugeot sees him as a high potential talent ready for top tier endurance racing.
Alongside that he made his endurance racing bow in the LMP2 category, claiming pole position at Imola in the European Le Mans Series and finishing eighth in class on his maiden appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Theo Pourchaire, Peugeot Development Driver, said: “I’m proud to represent Peugeot, a brand with a rich motorsport history that has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I can’t wait to contest this legendary race in the top category behind the wheel of the Peugeot 9X8.”
Pourchaire will join Formula E front-runner Nick Cassidy as a new face in Peugeot’s race line up next season and will replace Stoffel Vandoorne as a member of the #94 crew in Bahrain. The Belgian has competed for the squad since the beginning of 2024 reaching the rostrum for the first time in WEC’s top tier in Texas last weekend.
