Ferrari doubles down! Nicklas Nielsen secures Hypercar future in Scuderia shake up

Nicklas Nielsen, Ferrari factory driver and FIA World Endurance Champion (WEC) has officially renewed his contract with Ferrari confirming his continued role in their Hypercar program. Announced today (11th of September) during the 2025 WEC season was made via Ferrari’s official motorsport media site with Nielsen continuing to race in WEC under the Ferrari – AF Corse banner. Ahead of the final rounds and in preparation for the 2026 campaign.


Ferrari have praised Nielsen’s consistentcy, technical feedback and championship pedigree, viewing him as a key figure in their long-term Hypercar strategy along with development efforts.

Nicklas Nielsen, Ferrari Hypercar Driver, said: “With great determination, I thank Ferrari and look to the future with the hope of continuing to win races and titles together while representing the Prancing Horse.”

The 28 year old Dane has competed since the 2023 season in the top class of WEC with the number 50 Ferrari 499P, shared with Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina as well as selected international series with the 296 GT3.


Driving the Ferrari 499P, Nielsen won the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans and has so far scored two victories along with 10 podium finishes.

Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, said: “That journey took a further step forward in 2023 with his move into the top class of the FIA WEC, where he won the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 499P, confirming his maturity as one of Ferrari’s leading drivers.”

His roll of honour includes drivers’ titles in the FIA WEC Endurance Trophy LMGTE Am class, the European Le Mans Series in LMGTE and the GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup.
